theWeather Club Newsletter Issue 19 Autumn 2017

Autumn e-newsletter issue 19

Dear theWeather Club e-newsletter readers,

From devastating hurricanes and monsoons to iceberg calving events in the Antarctic, it seems weather and climate events have dominated the news in recent months - and continue to do so into Autumn. In this issue we take a look back at the UK summer, explore weather and health, investigate Global atmospheric circulation, and take a tour of Wellington, New Zealand.

In order to keep up with changes in the world of digital communications and to convey a wider breadth of content, we are going to be trialing alternative ways to deliver tWC newsletters. For this Autumn issue, you can either download a pdf version of the e-newsletter (available at the bottom of this page) or, in order to obtain extra information, including images and videos for each article, simply click on the 'buttons' below.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Prof Ellie Highwood for her engaging articles over the years, as this will be her last regular contribution to tWC.

In the meantime, enjoy!

Dr Catherine Muller
